Adult Training - BULS session #7

Dariusz Sadowski  |  07-Jul-2017

Dear All

The next BULS session to take place on 08/07/2017 will be led by Mike Warwicker. Please let us know if you’re planning to come.

A couple of successes from those participating in the BULS since last year – resulted in Dominic L. and David S. sailing their own Lasers now. As the programme is run more frequently – we hope to see many more of you on the water regularly – eg take part in the Thursday evening series or on Sunday afternoon.

Usual Format: opportunity to get out on the water and practice in a structured / coached environment. It is each sailors’ own decision and responsibility to decide if they can handle the conditions on the given day (advice will be provided).

1pm - rigging / changing (aim is for all to be able to rig boats on their own)
2pm - aim to launch on the water
3.30-4pm – expect to be back ashore – for de-rigging and de-brief

Costs: free if you use your own boat and £5 for those using club equipment.

Weather sources:

Clothing – wetsuits recommended, although in in warm weather shorties may do. Also remember Sunscreen + hats + hydration.
In colder months, additional fleecy layers, gloves + woolly /fleecy hats also recommended.
Some sources for dinghy sailing clothing suppliers:
Rooster: (probably the most popular dinghy sailors source of kit)
Wetsuitoutlet - (good prices + selection)
Decathlon – very good value for money (Surrey Quays + Lakeside)
Ocean Leisure – near Embankment
Dinghy show – show bargains always to be had – in March at Alexandra Palace / September in Southampton and January in London.
Hammond Drysuits:

I am away this weekend but look forward to seeing you at the club soon
