This is perhaps the oldest and premier, members annual regatta. This year saw 45 boats entered, representing 17 different classes and 59 members, in a two race handicap event. This was also our annual charity event raisung money for “the Andrew Simpson foundation” (Barts Bash) and the Kent Air Ambulance. A total of £335 was raised.
The day was fine with a light and shifty westerly wind, sometimes from anywhere else. Two races were held with the members meeting held in the afternoon to receive and discuss the club survey.
The winner of the Rose Bowl was Richard Southern in a Solo, with Steve Curl second in a Phantom and Richard Sharp third in a Finn. The Ladies prize was won by Karen Irons in a Solo, the youth trophy won by Jo Warwicker in an RS Tera pro, the veterans trophy by Don Buckle in a Solo. A good day for all, we look forward to the next big event for the whole club, the Icicle.
