Further to the Prime Ministers statement on 23rd March regarding COVID 19, the following measures have been introduced:

Everyone must stay at home to help stop the spread of coronavirus.

You should only leave the house for these reasons:

  • shopping for basic necessities, for example food and medicine, which must be as infrequent as possible
  • one form of exercise a day, for example a run, walk, or cycle – alone or with members of your household
  • any medical need, or to provide care or to help a vulnerable person
  • travelling to and from work, but only where this absolutely cannot be done from home

Therefore the General Committee have made the decision to suspend all activity at Bough Beech Sailing Club. This includes the previous provision for ‘Buddy Sailing’.

Bough Beech Sailing Club is closed, no access to the clubhouse, water or grounds

These new measures will initially last for the three weeks from 23 March, at which point the Government will look at them again and relax them if the evidence shows this is possible. At this point the GC will review whether the current closure of the Club is proportionate to the risk at that time.

These are truly unprecedented times, and the impact that this outbreak will have on society, businesses, individuals and our local community will be huge. We recognise that members will be affected in many and potentially serious ways. All of the members of the GC and SC at Bough Beech Sailing Club wish that all members and their families stay as safe as possible during these times, and we hope to see you all back at the Club and out on the water as soon as practicable.

We will continue to update you as the situation develops in the coming weeks.
