Update on BBSC Plans for August

The club's Covid Management Group and General Committee have been monitoring changing Government regulations and RYA advice on dealing with the COVID-19 situation.  As a result of changes announced in July we are able to modify some of our activities. BBSC Solos take part in a national multi-venue event

Five of our Solo fleet joined over 100 Solos from 25 clubs throughout Britain that took part in a first ever multi-venue GPS-monitored race organised by Sailracer. The aim is to see which boat could record the fastest average time over two races when allowances were made for varying local conditions and course lengths, (how do they do that?!) Virtual Racing Series Ends

BBSC plans to reopen in stages

Covid-19 plans and precautions Following the Government’s announcement of more relaxed leisure restrictions on 10 May, the Club has been able partially to reopen to permit paid up members to use the lake for social sailing at their own risk.  The Clubhouse remains closed and there are no formal Club activities. Virtual Racing Series Online – May Series

A few of the Club’s members who have got into eSailing during the lockdown have been competing weekly in evening and Sunday racing, though the numbers may tail off now real sailing has resumed. The Sunday afternoon May series is led by Peter Cook, who recently represented Bough Beech in the RYA London and South East Clubs Regional Championship.  He made it through to the final series of 20 sailors from some 500 individual entrants across the region. Sailing to Restart!

Following the updated government advice earlier this week, we are pleased to announce that from Saturday 16th May independent buddy sailing, windsurfing, radio controlled sailing and SUPing may resume at Bough Beech Sailing Club. Club Closure during the coronavirus pandemic

The club remains closed with no access to the clubhouse, water or grounds. Coastal Summer Camping and Sailing Week at Cobnor

Each year a group of Tonbridge Town SC & BBSC sailors hitch up their boats and go down to camp & sail at Cobnor Estate, Chichester Harbour. Normally they go down for both May Bank Holidays, August Bank Holiday & for the last week of July & first week of August.
