The RC yacht group was formed in 2019, in the late summer before Covid struck. At the time we had 14 members, during restrictions we lost 6 members which reduced us to a hard core of 8. Right from the beginning we chose to race a one design class of Dragon Flyte (DF) 95s, this being suitable for our conditions on the lee shore of the reservoir. The races are properly run to established rules on courses set out each race day to wind directions. An electronic starter with vocal times given is used for all races. Currently we meet t 1000hrs on Wednesdays, we usually run 10 to 15 races a morning and weekly updates are given.

The DF95, race ready, can be purchased from a local agent for under £350. (RC Yachts , Swanley , Kent).

Club membership for RC members costs £55/yr and keeps you in touch with the club and members.
