The Icicle Open reached its conclusion on Sunday 25th February with all sixteen races completed. 103 boats entered the event including many visitors from throughout the South East. Twenty Wayfarers competed over two days in the final fixture of the Craftinsure Natinal Circuit and Travellors Series for this year. With the two Saturday races in light air and the two Sunday races in much stronger winds, good all round sailing ability was required. This is perhaps the oldest and premier, members annual regatta. This year saw 45 boats entered, representing 17 different classes and 59 members, in a two race handicap event. This was also our annual charity event raisung money for “the Andrew Simpson foundation” (Barts Bash) and the Kent Air Ambulance. A total of £335 was raised. On the 3rd September 2017, Bough Beech youth members Frances, Luka, Joe and Casper visited Medway Yacht Club to take part in a Topper Traveller series event. The day started with us arriving and rigging our Toppers. Then it was a quick change before the briefing at 10 o’clock.
