15 boats entered the third Snipe Open at Bough Beech sailing club since fleet 545 moved there from Blue Circle. The fleet comprised of 8 local boats and 7 travellers from as far afield as Manchester and Devon. The solo fleet returned to Bough Beech for the 2018 Southern Area Championship which was also included in the Solo Super Series.  Thirty eight boats including thirteen from Bough Beech launched in brilliant sunshine in a comfortable F2. Winds built throughout the day upto a F4-5 and  participants enjoyed four competitive races against top solo helms. We have arranged a rules evening at the club on Saturday 21st April. The evening will be with Chris Simon, an RYA rules specialist. He will start with the rules about mark rounding and follow this with question and answers. Mark and Tracy will serve a 2 course meal during the evening: Chicken curry and naan bread, with popadums and mango chutney followed by apple crumble and custard, tea and coffee include. Price £15 . The Icicle Open reached its conclusion on Sunday 25th February with all sixteen races completed. 103 boats entered the event including many visitors from throughout the South East.
